Autumn is here when, on Thursday, September 22, the autumnal equinox begins in the Northern Hemisphere.

“The exact moment when the sun appears to arrive at the intersection of the ecliptic and the celestial equator is when autumn begins,” according to Live Science.

As the days become shorter, and nights become longer, people tend to move more inward both into themselves and their homes, as they find comfort in rediscovering sitting by the fireplace, indoor activities and the warmth of family and friends.
