Hello neighbor! This is “LifeCycles” with Laurie Edwards-Tate, President, At Your Home Familycare.
If you’re a long distance caregiver for parents or elders, take time to meet their neighbors and close friends. Exchange contact information. Invite them to let you know if there are needs or problems.
If your loved one doesn’t know his or her neighbors, this is cause for concern. When older people lack social ties, it contributes to declining health and depression. If someone can visit regularly, get them involved. If not, private duty homecare provides companionship, safety checks regular updates… and peace of mind.
