Keeping your best employees is a challenge. It’s more diffcult when they are caregivers. I’m Laurie Edwards-Tate with “LifeCycles.”

One in ten American workers is a caregiver – nearly 16 million people.  Each year, businesses lose 29 billion dollars due to caregiving.  Workers suffer more stress related illness, raising healthcare costs. One in ten caregivers ends up quitting their jobs. This is a serious financial and emotional toll.  Employers learned that offering child care benefits drew higher quality employees. Smart employers should consider offering dependent care, including children, older, or disabled dependents. It’s good for business and good for families, too.
