Seniors walking at night can be the prey of thieves. Take precautions. Be alert and scan your surroundings as you walk. Do not use an iPod because you cannot hear anyone approaching. Stick to populated walkways and lighted streets.

Seniors need to keep safety in mind when walking for exercise.If you see someone approaching, project confidence and calm. Showing fear will make you a target. If someone gives you a bad feeling, firmly tell him to leave you alone and walk away. Wear unassuming clothing and no flashy jewelry.

These simple tips will keep you strolling safely for years to come.
